Websters dictionary defines a CHEAT as, "to violate rules (as of a game) dishonestly... to practice fraud or trickery."

The dictionary defines a HACK as, "a person who illegally gains access to and sometimes tampers with information in a computer system. Also: a person unskilled at something."

Keeping these definitions in mind, the following is AoD's definition and position on cheating, hacking and glitching as it applies to the games we play:

Cheating/Hacking: The search for, finding, downloading, possession, use or exploitation of any software program or glitch. The changing of any game file or the enabling of any tool, accidentally or purposefully included in any game by the game manufacturer, in an effort by the player to exploite or gain an unfair advantage over another player(s) or team. The so-called "testing" of any of the above in any server whether public or private without the knowledge AND approval of the AoD PunkBuster Game Server Administrator is prohibited.

If any software program, glitch or "tool" is discovered by any AoD member or recruit at any time, it should be immediately brought to the attention of at least one other member as well as the AoD PunkBuster Game Server Administrator.

CONSEQUENCES

A violation of any or all of the above by any AoD member or recruit will result in immediate dismissal from the AoD team, banning from the AoD game(s) and Ventrilo servers and the AoD web site. The member's GUID and any cheat or hack information will be submitted to Punks Busted and Respected Admins for their review and possible inclusion on the Master Ban List (MBL) or the Supplemental Ban List (SBL).

All Punksbusted and Respected Admins code that is written to detect cheats/hacks, changes in game files etc. is used on our game server(s) that support Punkbuster. Any and all cheats/hacks identified by Punkbuster and added by Punkbuster to our cheat or violation logs will be considered a banable offense.

Any AoD Member that participates in any on-line game that does support Punkbuster or any anti-cheat program is expected to play the game as it was meant to be played, without cheats/hacks, glitches, software programs or tools. Any proven violation of these will result in immediate dismissal from the AoD team, banning from the AoD game(s) and Ventrilo servers and the AoD web site. The member's GUID and any cheat or hack information will be submitted to Punks Busted and Respected Admins for their review and possible inclusion on the Master Ban List (MBL) or the Supplemental Ban List (SBL). In addition, all information will be posted in the AoD PB Hall of Shame forum.
